About Dr. Deepa Patel

Although, my educational work has given me extensive knowledge in the field of psychology, credit is due to my intuitive and emphatic being for being able to hold space, awareness, and reflect wisdom to my clients from around the world. My personal life path has been met with immense internal and external challenges, no amount of psychological education could compare to the experience of hands on life training.

I have a deep sense of sympathy and sensitivity for those who suffer from living unconventionally. This can be through resisting racial, cultural, familial, generational, sexual, gender and/or personal norms.

The intersectionality of race, gender, sexual orientation have opened up a vast space within our psyche that has been known to cause turmoil, confusion, and immense sadness to those who lack positive support to embrace and move through the challenges of self acceptance.

As a first generation, East Indian lesbian woman I struggled with cultural differences, being raised by immigrant parents. Culturally, my sexuality was rejected and not understood. My process of self acceptance and living a truthful life for myself created an internal growth spurt that has left me in an explosive state of happiness at this point in my life. This just covers a few strands of knots I have had to untangle in these young years of my life. For each knot I have become so grateful, they have been the biggest blessings in my life.
